Work Exchange Coordinator

Virginia (they/them) is a queer elder and a trans-disciplinary artis. They have been practising yoga for forty years and teaching for twenty years, most often in community studios with a focus on creating inclusive safer yoga spaces for marginalised bodies.

Virginia initially came to yoga as a way to manage trauma and mental health impacts through mindful somatic work, breathwork and philosophy. They are deeply committed to passing this knowledge on, and engaging with trauma-informed and accessible practise.

Virginia is known to Human.Kind colleagues as the Trash Queen, for their commitment to a zero waste to landfill goal for the studio and beyond. This they see as part of their intersectional anti- racism work.

Virginia acknowledges the teachings of Rachel Zinman, Donna Farhi, Sussana Barkataki, Theo WIldcroft, Pema Chodron among many others.

Virginia lives and works on unceded First Nations lands, and acknowledges the privilege of free passage across those lands in the pursuit of their research and practise.
