Josh Jenkins

Physiotherapist

My journey into movement practices was when I first discovered yoga in Southeast Asia about 10 years ago. I was intrigued by how this practice seemed to help so many people with so many needs, and by how it could potentially help me know more about myself. I have been practicing ever since, and have become inspired by how many different practices and options there are to move our bodies, and am constantly fascinated by how these practices may affect us.

I completed a Bachelor of Exercise & Sports Science in 2020 to get a more scientific understanding of the body, then worked for 4+ years in gyms and as a personal trainer guiding people on their movement journeys. During that time, I became further fascinated with pain and how that shows up in the body, and decided Physiotherapy was the next step, completing my Masters in Physiotherapy in 2024.

I now practice as a physio, and 4+ years of Yoga teaching, and feel extremely grateful every day that my job is to help people understand their body, and their experience of their body, and to help guide them through challenging and often painful experiences. Pain is the ultimate teacher, and I believe if we can understand and listen to it more, it often helps to give us an answer to the way out of it also.

My approach to Physiotherapy is calm, human, curious and practical — combining my fascination with the emergent experiences of the body with a down to earth and compassionate approach that is led by the client and their feelings/experiences. I have a particular interest in persistent pain and complex presentations, and enjoy working with people who feel stuck, frustrated, or misunderstood in their recovery.

My down-time is usually spent surfing, collecting and listening to vinyl, or making sourdough (this is how I know I am now 30!).
