(he/him)

Facilitator & Physiotherapist

Hey there, my name is Jamie and I love what I do.  I’ve been practicing physiotherapy in private practices for the past 8 years and have gained a tonne of 1-on-1 experience with all areas of the body.

By complementing physio with yoga teaching over the past 4 years I can now see so much more complexity in our movement patterns and potential sources of one’s pain and discomfort.

On top of this, during the last couple of years I have been one of the few treating physios in a “first of its kind” knee osteoarthritis clinical trial, which has opened my eyes wide to see the unmistakable links between our movement, eating, thinking, beliefs and our pains.

But within this love comes a need to find balance with movement and creativity.  I get excited going climbing indoors or outdoors, I don’t mind.  Surfing sloppy goolwa on my trusted wizard stick or tiny midcoast on a 9ft log.  Or even getting into triathlon training coming into summer so I can power along the silver sands beach faster than one of our other physios Sam Lutze (well… that’s my aim).

If you have experienced a session with me then you’ll know that I’m a fan of dry needling, but not exclusively, I have lots of other hands-on techniques.  More importantly though are my methods for movement re-training and my exercises for specific strengthening.  My role (as we see it here at human.kind) is to help guide you to enable your body to do what it does potently, self-heal.  I don’t heal you, I help you to create the perfect conditions to allow the natural processes to work their wonders.  A co-pilot so to speak.  Sometimes we need a bit of help to get ourselves out of a sticky spot.
