CoFounder, Creative Director & Lead Facilitator
My work aims to spark wonder, reconstruct meaning, and find fluency in our shared humanity.
Over the past 2 decades, I’ve had the privilege of guiding thousands of people through the complexities of human experience and shaping their presence in the world. Today I am immersed in teaching meditation and mindfulness, guiding yoga and movement, nurturing our engaged community, hosting conversations, creating artworks, and researching contemplative sciences in a Masters of Psychotherapy at Adelaide Uni.
Forever drawn to philosophy and poetry, I spent my youth as a writer and performing artist touring festivals around Australia, culminating as the Associate Producer of Adelaide Fringe. I hold a degree in International Relations (yep, heal the world kid), with a major in Language and Linguistics.
I became immersed in yogic practices through my 20s, eventually completing over 1000hrs of formal certifications across a range of modalities. These include extensive training with Sarah Powers, 800hrs of History, Literature and Philosophy with Georg Feuerstein, and working closely with Duncan Peak at Power Living.
Over the past five years my practice has focused on the Buddhist traditions. In 2022 I completed a two year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, alongside mentors and teachers from the Greater Good Science Centre at University of California, Berkeley.
I’m currently continuing these depth practices with the Insight Meditation Institute, on the pathway to become an Australian Insight Dharma teacher as part of a 4 year mentorship program. I sit regular silent retreats with Subhana Barzaghi and the IMA sangha, Timothea Goddard from Openground, and as many mettā meditation retreats as I can via the Spirit Rock community.
Driven by a growing interest in contemporary research and evidence-based practice, I’m now completing a Masters in Counselling & Psychotherapy through Adelaide University. Through which I hope to blend authentic scholarship with embodied practice in my ongoing group work and retreat settings.
My artistic practice orbits writing and performance, incorporating awe, storytelling, and connection. I’m honoured to be the current Poet-In-Residence for the S.A. Nature Festival.
In 2022 I received the 40 Under 40 Award for business leadership in South Australia. Alongside my partner in business (and love) Triton Tunis-Mitchell, we are expanding the scope of Human.Kind to be an impact organisation for environmental and social leadership. We have recently become caring custodians of 107ha of land at Myponga, Kaurna Country, on which we hope to model a regenerative collective future, and hold space for ecological and spiritual engagement.
I aspire to keep living in the confluence of creativity, spiritual inquiry, and activism. Poised gracefully on life’s tightrope of beauty and chaos, offering wisdom and refuge to all beings in our tender and beautiful world.
