Lead Facilitator & Studio Co-Owner
Community, education and creativity are the passions that orbit Tessa’s life. As co-founder of the Human.Kind community, Tessa has spent the past 10 years studying, practicing and teaching the tools of self-awareness to thousands of people from all walks of life. Her commitment is to shine brighter light onto everyday life, through ancient teachings made relevant and accessible to today’s world.
Tessa completed a degree in International Relations, majoring in Language and Linguistics at Griffith University in 2008. She spent many years as an award-winning writer and performing artist, touring festivals around Australia and the world. Her artistry is still expressed today through the poetry of teaching and sharing learnt experience.
Spanning the past decade, she’s completed well over 1000hrs of formal yoga industry certifications. Including studies in mindfulness, meditation, traditional hatha yoga, modern vinyasa, yin yoga, yogic literature and philosophy, buddha dharma, human biomechanics and anatomy. She acknowledges her most influential teachers; Sarah Powers, Jack Kornfield, Duncan Peak, Annie Carpenter, Rod Stryker and the late Georg Feuerstein for the influences she carries today.
For Tessa, spiritual activism is the connection to both wisdom and compassion, lived through open-hearted community. Alongside the rest of the Human.Kind team, she’s honoured to offer, and engage in, this transformational practice with Adelaide and the world.
“Wisdom is knowing I am nothing, love is knowing I am everything, and between the two my life moves”.
